Here you'll find information and activities centered on the climbing community of Colorado Springs - both sport and trad.
Come in and see what we have to offer! There is over 13,000 sq. ft. of sculpted climbing surface for leading, toproping or bouldering. There are routes for all ages and abilities.
We do special events, including parties, outdoor guiding, and we even have a Youth Climbing Team!
The Sport Climbing Center and the Climbers Association of Colorado College presented the Rumble for Ritt bouldering comp at SCC on May 3. Read more for the results.
Thanks to all of the high school students for coming out to the Sport Climbing Center to compete in the SoCo Climbing Competition. Congratulations to 1st place finishers Thomas Wong and Hannah Hilkey! The results follow:
Overall winners were Luke Bohanon and Megan Mascarenas! Congratulations to them and all of the competitors that bouldered in the U Pump It competition. Special thanks to our local sponsor Mountain Chalet, also 5.10, Bluewater, Osprey, Mountain Khakis, and Voodoo. The comp was followed by a raffle, and an awesome sideshow of Keith Ladzinski's, presented by Brian Rhoades.

A good time was had by the competitors and spectators at the U Pump It bouldering comp held November 30, 2007. Congrats to Scott Stucky and Chauncey Cox, the overall winners!
There was even a special guest appearance by Kevin Branford, who took 2nd place, and former employee, Brian Birks bagged 1st place in the dyno comp.
Prizes were awarded to Scott and Chauncey, then the remainder of the sweet prizes from our generous sponsors were raffled off. Lucky winner, Axel Ulrich, age 5, was surprised to win a Bluewater climbing rope!

The "U Pump It" Climbing Competitions are coming back to SCC! The first event, a bouldering only comp, will be held on Friday, November 30th. The second will combine top rope, lead, and bouldering routes. This comp will take place on Friday, January 11. Our crew of route-setters will be creating dozens of boulder problems and routes for climbers of all ability levels, so come out and have a great time! Several of your favorite climbing equipment manufacturers, retailers and clothing companies will be sponsoring the two events and are providing some excellent prizes. Start training now to fine tune your technique and build up your power and endurance. See you at the 2007 U Pump It!

The USA Climbing Regional Championship was held May 12, 2007 in Boulder. Over a dozen SCC climbers advanced to the divisionals competition coming up next month in New Mexico. Congratulations! For complete results go to usaclimbing.net.
Congratulations to Megan Mascarenas, Jesse and Tyler Youngwerth who competed in the ABS8 Nationals in Maryland. After sending all of the qualifier boulder problems, Megan took 5th overall in the 11 and under catagory. Way to go Tyler, who finished 9th in her age group. The bouldering comp held at SCC on Saturday, November 4, 2006 was a huge success. The turn-out was one of SCC's largest! Thanks to all of the competitors who came out. We sincerely appreciate the support of all of the sponsors, and can't thank Mountain Chalet enough for their generous sponsorship. Way to go Nick Anderson and Austin Geiman for all of the thrilling boulder problems and scoring. Congratulations to the top finishers Chauncenia Cox and Rick Hester. Starting May 11, SCC's Sunday hours will be from 1pm-8pm.
Yoga
Yoga at SCC will be taking a break during the summer months. Annika's last class will be held on Thursday, May 15. Yoga classes will resume in the fall.

Want to get in on the best deal of the year on an SCC membership? The Sport Climbing Center's summer special begins May 15! Climbers can start up, renew, or extend a 3 month membership for only $95. One continuous special per person can be purchased now through June 30, 2008.
Outdoor Climbing Schedule
Front Range Climbing Company and the Sport Climbing Center have set the schedule for guided outdoor climbing trips. All trips are weather permitting. The Garden of the Gods dates are April 19, May 10, and June 7. The Red Rock Canyon dates are April 26, May 31, and June 21. Trips are only $40 per person, and we'll supply all the gear! So give SCC a call at 260-1050, and sign up for some outdoor fun!
Introductory Climbing Class
Are you new to climbing or interested in an adventurous new sport? SCC offers an introductory class every Saturday morning from 9am-11am. The course includes how to tie the figure 8 knot, belaying, basic climbing technique and more. You may also stay after the class to climb throughout the day at no additional charge.
Cost: $35
Includes: shoe rental and climbing gear (harness and belay device)
